Champaign Co. Crime Stoppers seeking tips on Urbana armed robbery

URBANA, Ill. — Crime Stoppers in Champaign County is reaching out to the community for assistance in solving a recent armed robbery that took place in Urbana. The incident occurred at Exotics Smoke Shop on East University Avenue on November 7th.

According to officials, the robbery unfolded at approximately 8:15 p.m. when a man entered the store and requested an employee to unlock a vape display case. At that moment, the man brandished a firearm and demanded the contents of the case.

The quick-thinking employee highlighted the presence of multiple surveillance cameras capturing the scene, prompting the suspect to abandon his attempt and flee the premises.
