Help Needed: Champaign County Crime Stoppers Seeks Information on Recent Aggravated Battery Incident

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities in Champaign County are reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying a man suspected of inappropriate physical contact aboard an MTD bus.

The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. on September 16. The man in question boarded the bus at the Walmart on South High Cross Road in Urbana. While on the bus, he reportedly engaged in unwanted physical contact with another passenger, continuing this behavior for several minutes until reaching his stop.

After disembarking at the intersection of Washington Street and Second Street in Champaign, police conducted a search of the vicinity but were unable to locate the suspect.

Authorities and Crime Stoppers are now urging the public to help identify the man. He is described as a Hispanic individual with a mustache, medium build, and standing approximately 5’6″ tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue t-shirt, gray pants, white tennis shoes, and a red Chicago Bulls hat with a white flat bill.
