SAVANNAH, Ga. – As the holiday season unfolds, the spirit of giving is in full swing, ensuring that countless local children will find joy and surprises under their Christmas trees.

This December, the atmosphere inside the station brims with festive cheer, as an ambitious goal has been set to fill the lobby with toys. Holiday Hope, an annual tradition, rallies the community to support families throughout the Coastal Empire and the Lowcountry, making sure no child wakes up without a gift.

Today marks our fourth visit to Savannah, and the community’s generosity has been nothing short of extraordinary. Collaborating with The Salvation Army and Bluffton Self-Help, each toy donated finds its way into the hands of families in need, spreading joy where it’s most needed.

According to Bluffton Self-Help, the demand for assistance has surged, with over 350 more children added to their list compared to last year. This year, we are also collecting for Toys for Tots, with added backing from organizations such as Southern Motors Honda, Savannah State University, and the Savannah Police Department.

Every toy collected through this initiative goes directly to children who might otherwise miss out on the magic of the season.

“It’s one of the ways the Marine Corps likes to give back to our community because we go out, we do our military things. But at the end of the day, we still have to come back home, and we still have to we still have to be a part of the community that we serve,” Gunnery Sergeant Jonathan Beemster with the U.S. Marines.

You can donate today. You can attend from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at J.C. Lewis Healthcare on Mall Annex Road in Savannah. Our chief meteorologist, Scott Roberts, will be there, and if you can’t make it today, don’t worry – Holiday Hope continues with several more stops through December 19th.

This year, you have until next Friday to drop off a toy and make someone’s Christmas bright. You can find a full list of dates, times, and drop-off locations at wsav.com/holidayhope.
