Help Wanted: Crime Stoppers Seeking Info on Break-In at Rantoul Storage Unit

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — The Rantoul Police Department and Champaign County Crime Stoppers are asking for help in finding the people responsible for burglarizing a storage facility earlier this month.

The burglary happened on April 11 at a facility in the 100 block of East Flessner Avenue. Surveillance footage showed that at approximately 1:10 a.m., two people arrived in a white U-Haul van, cut the lock off of one of the storage units and took several items from the unit and put them in their van.

The crime wasn’t reported to Rantoul Police until the following day.

The suspects recorded on camera were described as:

  • Male, white, wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans
  • Wearing light colored pants, white shoes and a dark hoodie

Anyone who knows something about this crime is asked to contact Champaign County Crime Stoppers to submit a tip. Tips can be made by calling 217-373-8477, visiting their website or using the P3 Tips app.

Using these methods will ensure that tipsters remain anonymous and their tip is eligible for a cash reward if Rantoul Police make an arrest in this case.
