Heroic K9 Daisey Leads Carter Co. Officers to Arrest in Shocking Child Exploitation Case

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — A report of a suspected child predator prompted the Bristol, Tennessee Police Department (BTPD) to take swift action on Tuesday, culminating in the arrest of a local resident.

Authorities arrived in the vicinity of 1110 Broad Street around 3:07 p.m. and engaged with 30-year-old Troy C. Clarkson, who willingly cooperated with the officers. Upon investigation, police uncovered child sexual abuse material on Clarkson’s cellphone. This discovery led to the issuance and execution of a search warrant on Thursday.

Assistance from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office’s Electronic Storage Detection K9, Daisey, who is part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, proved instrumental in the investigation. Clarkson now faces a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor and was subsequently detained at the Sullivan County Jail.
