In Tampa, Florida, a man was taken into custody on Saturday following a dramatic chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies across several counties.
At around 3:45 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) was alerted by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and North Port Police Department about a 2025 Blue Lexus SUV that had evaded authorities on Interstate 75.
Troopers tracked down the elusive vehicle in Lee County and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the highway.

The driver, however, continued to evade capture, speeding southward on I-75 as the pursuit stretched into Collier County, according to FHP reports.
The chase concluded when Collier County Sheriff’s deputies deployed stop sticks near Exit 107, effectively immobilizing the SUV and bringing the pursuit to a halt.
According to FHP, state troopers arrested the driver, identified as 23-year-old Wilnick Brutus, and charged him with multiple offenses including fleeing and eluding, driving while his license was suspended, and marijuana possession.
He was taken and booked into the Collier County Jail.
