TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hot afternoons with late-day storms through Saturday. Each morning will start out mainly dry with just a 10% rain chance and a few clouds. Temps warm up quickly with highs 93-96 degrees. The humidity is slightly higher with feels like temps 105 to 110 degrees each day.
Rain chances will increase to a 40% each day with spotty storms developing early in the afternoon and storms meandering through the evening.
Moisture increases Sunday and Monday increasing rain chances to a 50 to 60%.
It stays hot and humid next week with a similar summertime pattern in place.
Tropical Storm Erin is now strengthening in the central Atlantic. It will continue to strengthen and move west through Sunday, staying north of the Caribbean islands and turning north sometime Monday.
While the exact location of the turn may shift east and west over the coming days, there will be no impacts to the Tampa Bay area. High surf and strong rip currents are likely along the east coast next week as swells generated from the storm reach the coast.
