DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Sean Bowsher and Nikki Harnack joined WCIA’s Mitchell Rife to talk about the upcoming Hardy’s Race for the Lake event.
Hardy’s Race for the Lake will take place from June 7-8 at Basin 2 at Lake Decatur. The event will include the 60 fastest hydroplane boats in the nation over the course of two full days of racing. The hydroplane speeds get up to 150 miles per hour.
This is the second year back to boat racing in Decatur after a 20-year hiatus. Last year over 10,000 people attended during the two-day event. Additionally, this event will be happening for at least the next three years according to Bowsher.
