HINESVILLE, Ga. () — A man wanted for kidnapping and battery reportedly turned himself on Monday, a Hinesville Police Department (HPD) spokesperson said.

After a video was shared online of “a male intimidating a visibly terrified female, forcing her to say certain things on camera while she is clearly suffering from a bloodied mouth and nose,” police obtained warrants for Gene Rhodes arrest, officials reported.

Rhodes, a resident of Hinesville, turned himself into the Liberty County Jail Monday. He is charged with kidnapping, terroristic threats and battery.

Rhodes is reportedly in custody pending his first appearance bond hearing.

The girl seen in the video is safe and back with her family, a police spokesperson said.

HPD shared a photo of Rhodes online and asked for the public’s help locating him on Friday.
