In Washington County, Tennessee, two individuals were taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly defacing holiday ornaments and brandishing a firearm at a resident.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) disclosed in a press release that Dustin Otto Bishop, 31, from Elizabethton, and Kaitlyn Dawn Malone, 29, from Johnson City, face charges of aggravated assault.

Authorities were dispatched to a residence along McKinley Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. on December 19.

The WCSO reported, “Residents of the home claimed that the suspects damaged Christmas decorations before tapping on a bedroom window. As per the victim’s account, both Bishop and Malone lifted their ski masks to reveal their identities before Bishop allegedly pointed a gun at him.”

The pair was apprehended on Wednesday afternoon, found walking along Highway 11-E near South Barton Street. Bishop was said to have attempted an escape but was captured on South North Street.

In addition to aggravated assault, Bishop is charged with resisting arrest and simple possession.

Bishop and Malone were taken to the Washington County Detention Center.

As of Friday, Malone made her $10,000 bond and Bishop is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Both will appear in court on Friday.
