HOMER, Ill. (WCIA) — The Village of Homer held its Freedom and Music Festival — an annual Fourth of July Festival — Thursday and Friday.

The event’s line-up featured cornhole, local vendors, food trucks and live music all day long. Bands at the fest include Kolton Taylor & The Truck Toppers, X-Krush, The Wise Guys, Logan Allen, Caleb Cook Band, Boardertown & Co and Big Guns.

“Part of the other goal was for people to come out here and play bags, eat food, hang out with your family,” said Sharon Jeffers, City Clerk of Homer. “Just hang out and have a 4th of July here with your friends and family and watch our wonderful fireworks in the evening.”

Jeffers made sure there were kid friendly events too.

“There’s bingo for the kids with lots of prizes,” Jeffers said. “And tonight, we have an hour where the kids can go have fun with music. They’re going to have a little disco jam party inside the village hall with fun lights.”

Fireworks end Friday night’s entertainment at dusk. Jeffers said she hopes this event continues to happen for years to come.
