TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)– Pirates are set to invade Tampa on Saturday and it will truly be a shiver me timbers day!
Early Morning
Temperatures will start out very cold in the low 30s in Tampa Saturday morning, with a wind chill in the 20s until 8 or 9 a.m. Skies will be clear and the breeze will still be gusty at times.

The Invasion
As the Jose Gasparilla sets sail from Ballast Point, temperatures will have warming into the mid and upper 40s under sunny skies. The breeze will still be strong though and the waters will be choppy, not just from the hundreds of boats following the pirate ship.
Water temps are in the mid-50s so it will be quite cold on the water all day. As the ship docks to the Tampa Convention Center around 1:20 p.m, temps will have warmed into the low 50s.

The Parade
Floats set sail at 2:30 p.m. and temperatures will be in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees, about as warm as they will get all day. Luckily the sun will be out in full force and no rain is forecast but the breeze will still be chilly.
Temps will drop after about 4 p.m. and it will turn chilly quick!

Coldest Gasparilla?
Although a chilly day is expected, this isn’t the coldest Gasparilla. Just three years ago, highs were only in the mid-50s in 2022.

Sunday Clean-up
Temps will start out in the 30s and 40s, but a notable warm-up is in store with temps near 70 degrees in the afternoon. The warm-up continues all of next week!
