SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) held a job fair Tuesday, just weeks after the massive immigration raid at the Hyundai megasite in Bryan County.

Officials said they are looking to fill 28 salaried positions and around 10-12 hourly positions. According to a social media post, HMGMA is hiring cross several departments.

“We’re also we’re advertising that when our second shift does come online which will be next year, that that’s gonna bring a lot more job opportunities too especially in the production department,” Assistant Manager Jason Zdunich told .

The event was at the and open to everyone, with an emphasis on veterans and military service members.

While they have a limit on how many people they can hire right now, officials said more open positions are on the horizon.

In early September, 475 people were arrested in a multi-agency immigration sting operation. The majority of those arrested were Korean nationals who have since returned to South Korea.

The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officials said the operation at the Hyundai megasite was the “largest single site enforcement operation in the history of HSI.” The search warrant that authorized federal officers to enter the facility said the target location was the lithium battery cell manufacturing plant on the HMGMA campus.
