In a surprising turn of events, Mr. Clean, the iconic figure who has symbolized household hygiene for nearly seven decades, has announced his retirement.
Through a creatively animated “press conference” shared on Instagram, it was disclosed that the familiar, bald mascot associated with Procter & Gamble’s cleaning products is stepping down to embark on a new journey.

In an animated “press conference” posted to Instagram, it was revealed that the beloved, bald mascot of certain Procter & Gamble cleaning products would be entering a new chapter.
“After a career with zero stains on the record, he’s ready for new adventures,” an announcer said. “But don’t worry, his products will continue to be available to support all your cleaning needs.”
Mr. Clean was first introduced to the public in 1958, with his signature jingle released the following year, according to USA Today.
What’s next for Mr. Clean, first name “Veritably,” remains to be seen. The company confirmed to USA Today that the packaging and brand name will stay the same, and additional details will be shared March 4.
“I’ve seen it all, cleaned it all. I think it’s finally time to hang up my white shirt,” Mr. Clean wrote in another Instagram post alluding to his retirement.
