MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (WCIA) — Illini supporters were not surprised to turn on the television and see droves of orange and blue fans at Illinois’s NCAA opening game in Milwaukee.

The short drive allowed for an already passionate fanbase to show up to watch Illinois take on Xavier in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

“For the opposing teams, I’m sure that has to be frustrating and draining to see the whole arena going against you,” said junior guard Tre White.

Fans will have the chance to show out again in Illinois’s second-round game back at the Fiserv Forum. Six-seed Illinois will play three-seed Kentucky on Sunday at 4:15 p.m., broadcast on WCIA.
