Illini Softball Welcomes All-MAC Star to Hall of Fame Lineup

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois softball program is seeing another talent from Ohio join its ranks, as one of Jenna Hall’s standout players transfers to join her coach at a new home.

Brenna Farmer, who has earned the distinction of a two-time All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) first baseman, made public her decision to make the move to Illinois, aligning herself once again with Coach Hall.

Farmer has honed her skills over three seasons at Ohio, where under Hall’s guidance, she achieved a spot on the All-MAC Second Team last year. Her impressive performance included six home runs and a remarkable .392 batting average. Farmer also distinguished herself nationally, ranking second in defensive runs saved among first basemen.

Reflecting on her decision, Farmer shared deep appreciation for Coach Hall, stating, “I can’t say enough good things about Coach Hall, she has impacted my career and my life in the best way. It really means a lot to me to get to make this step with her and that was something that I shared with her when I had decided to commit. There’s no one else I’d rather be making this move with and to get to finish my career with her, it means the world to me.” Her heartfelt words underline the strength of the bond she has with Coach Hall, making this transition not only a professional advancement but also a personal milestone.

Fellow former Bobcat Izzie Wilson also announced her commitment to Illinois, bringing the count up to three new members of the Illini under Hall.
