TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As of Monday, February 9, Illinois drivers are seeing an average gas price of $2.99 per gallon, as reported by GasBuddy.
GasBuddy, a popular online platform and app, provides up-to-date tracking of fuel prices throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The latest figures from the site reveal that Illinois has experienced a 9.2-cent increase per gallon over the past week.
Despite this rise, Illinoisans are still paying 22.9 cents less per gallon compared to last year, although prices are 11.8 cents higher than the previous month.
On a broader scale, the national average for gas has ticked up by 1.2 cents per gallon over the last week.
