INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — The era of complimentary parking at Indian Rocks Beach has come to an end. This popular seaside location, previously the only one in Pinellas County offering free parking at beach access points, will now introduce paid parking. A total of 182 parking spots along the coastline will be equipped with ParkPoint systems.

During a meeting on December 9, city commissioners greenlit a pilot program set to launch in 2026. The decision was driven by the need to cover the costs of ongoing infrastructure projects and repair efforts following the damage from hurricanes Milton and Helene.
