Man arrested for vandalism, drugs Screven officials say

SYLVANIA, Ga. () — After multiple reports of vandalism and an extended investigation, the Screven County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) arrested a man.

An investigation was opened after gas stations, retail stores, county properties and abandoned buildings were vandalized, a SCSO representative said. Law enforcement used “several common tags” to tie the graffiti to Christopher Roberts.

Roberts was also found to be using and distributing drugs in Screven County, the spokesperson said.

Roberts was arrested Saturday on 40 charges including:

  • Burglary
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of schdeule IV control substance
  • Three counts of criminal damage to property
  • Possession of tools for the commission of crime
  • 19 counts theft by recieving stolen property
  • Two counts of possession and use of drug related objects
  • 11 counts of criminal trespass
  • Possession of marijuana
