Person extricated from car in accident with injuries in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A person was extricated from a car that turned on its side following an accident with injuries in Springfield Friday afternoon.

Springfield Police told WCIA that at approximately 3:39 p.m., the department received a call for an accident that occurred near the intersection of N MacArthur Blvd. and W. Madison St. Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37 crews were assigned to a car extrication at this location.

As a result of the accident, the car turned on its side and fire crews were working to remove occupants at approximately 4:08 p.m. Springfield Police said crews on scene were able to get “someone out of the vehicle” and that the injuries the occupants sustained in this crash were non-life-threatening.

Springfield Police said the scene has been cleared as of this time.
