JCPD: Man faces kidnapping, assault, & child abuse charges

BOONES CREEK, Tenn. (WJHL) — In an unusual morning incident, officers from the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) apprehended a suspect who attempted to flee on foot following a traffic stop on Interstate 26.

According to a JCPD spokesperson, the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when an officer pulled over a vehicle near mile marker 18 due to issues with unlawful registration.
