Joe Rogan Blasts Trump's White House Tribute to Biden: 'This is Insane!

WASHINGTON (The Hill) – On Thursday, podcast host Joe Rogan criticized a plaque at the White House that referenced former President Joe Biden, labeling it as “so crazy” and cautioning that it establishes a troublesome precedent.

During an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” released on Christmas Day, Rogan expressed his disbelief to comedian Shane Gillis, stating, “This is so crazy… You shouldn’t be allowed to do this. Right?”

Rogan argued that the responsibility for crafting presidential plaques in the “Presidential Walk of Fame”—a feature introduced by President Trump—should rest with historians rather than the sitting president. He specifically referenced the plaque dedicated to Biden, which included the nickname “Sleepy Joe Biden,” a moniker frequently used by Trump.

Quoting the plaque, Rogan noted, “‘Nicknamed both “Sleepy” and “Crooked,”’ – by you! Nicknamed?” He added, “It’s not like the whole public got together and said, ‘I’ve got a name for this guy!’”

Rogan repeated that the descriptions were “crazy” and said someone “needs to tell him like, ‘Hey, this is not good. You can’t do that, because other people could do that too and then the White House stops being the White House,’ and it becomes whoever is in its house, where he could just go crazy and say everybody else is a crook.”

Gillis said Trump was “not beating back the dictator charges” with the language used in the plaques, but he said future presidents were not likely to follow suit.

“God, I hope not,” Rogan replied.

Gillis suggested that California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a possible contender for the 2028 Democratic nomination for president, would not do the same thing.

“Of course he would,” Rogan replied. “He copies everything that Trump does. He even tries to talk like Trump on Twitter. You don’t think that he would put up plaques that talk about how corrupt Trump was and about how terrible — ‘He was quoted as lying over 5,000 times by The Washington Post,’ you know.”

The plaques were spotted under photos of the former presidents that Trump added along the West Wing Colonnade last week. Several of the plaques, including Biden’s, mock the leader in question, while others insert references to Trump.

Biden’s plaque, seen below an image of an autopen, refers to the 46th president as “the worst president in American history.” Former President Obama’s plaque similarly called him “one of the most divisive political figures in American history.”

The plaque for former President Clinton refers to Trump’s 2016 victory over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was first lady from 1993 to 2001. The plaque for former President Reagan says that the 40th president was “a fan of President Donald J. Trump long before President Trump’s Historic run for the White House.”
