AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Augusta is gearing up to launch its first-ever Shamrock Shuffle 5K & Fun Run, alongside a delightful children’s concert, on Saturday, March 21. These events aim to generate funds for the upcoming Center of Hope shelter.
The organization has announced that the 5K race will kick off at 8:45 a.m., with the Fun Run slated to start at 9:15 a.m. Participants can register for the 5K at a fee of $45, while the Fun Run is priced at $10. Registration, available until Wednesday, includes a commemorative race t-shirt and a one-month membership at the Kroc Center.
Families are also invited to enjoy a lively Children’s Concert featuring Tara Scheyer and the Mud Puppy Band, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in the Kroc Center theater. A suggested donation of $10 per family is encouraged, with all proceeds supporting the fundraising campaign. Donations can be made prior to the event or upon arrival.
“This event presents a wonderful chance for our community to unite for a morning filled with fitness, fun, and music, all while backing a significant cause,” stated Randall Collins, director of operations at The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Augusta. “Every registration and contribution brings us a step closer to establishing a new Center of Hope, offering safety, stability, and resources to our neighbors in need.”
The funds raised from these events will support the Salvation Army’s initiative to construct a new Center of Hope emergency overnight shelter, serving the Augusta community.
