AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Authorities have apprehended the suspected head of a local street gang following a collaborative effort among various law enforcement agencies.

On Tuesday, February 3, John F. Sheppard Jr., known as “SBL Jitt,” and Tyshawn D. Walker, referred to as “Ty5,” were taken into custody. They are currently detained at the Webster Detention Center.

According to investigators, Sheppard is believed to lead the Gang of Lake Olmstead (GLO), while Walker is also accused of being affiliated with the group.

The arrests were the culmination of a coordinated operation involving the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, with support from the Georgia State Patrol, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
