Jonesborough shines with annual Christmas tree lighting

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – A simple flick of a switch heralded the beginning of the holiday festivities in Tennessee’s most historic town with the traditional tree lighting ceremony.

Before illuminating the towering 60-foot Fraser fir, visitors enjoyed the Whoville Shop and Hop. Isabel Hawley-Lopez, who organizes events for the Town of Jonesborough, explained that patrons could explore downtown stores while indulging in Whoville and Grinch-themed delicacies.
