An Alabama resident has been handed a life sentence for his involvement in a human trafficking operation, a federal court in Tallahassee, Florida announced on Friday.
Chad Cornelious Seymore, aged 50, orchestrated a scheme over four years in which he and his accomplices would bail women out of county jails in Alabama and North Florida, subsequently compelling them to engage in commercial sex work, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
Authorities revealed that Seymore targeted women struggling with drug addictions, luring them through online ads and hotel encounters. He subjected his victims to threats and physical abuse, creating an environment of fear and manipulation.
In collaboration with Kimberly Robinson Gandy, 48, from Gulfport, Mississippi, Seymore trafficked women along the popular tourist destinations of Panama City Beach and Destin. The unlawful earnings from these activities were funneled through digital money transfer platforms.
Seymore had earlier confessed to charges, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, multiple counts of sex trafficking, interstate travel to further racketeering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Gandy was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty in June 2025 for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
