Atmospheric conditions look favorable for organization, making this a long-term system to monitor. Some development is likely by late this week through the third week of August.
If it reaches storm status, the next name on the list is Erin.

It’s far too early to say for certain, but early model runs this weekend suggest a possible northward curve over the western Atlantic, which could keep it over open waters. We’ll have plenty of time to watch—stay tuned for updates.
Meanwhile, Invest 96L in the central Atlantic is struggling against surrounding dry air. It’s expected to turn northward into the open ocean, posing no threat to land.
