In Knoxville, Tennessee, the late Master Sgt. Roderick W. Edmonds has been posthumously honored with the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary bravery during World War II. Edmonds, who passed away in 1985, is celebrated for his leadership and courageous actions while held as a prisoner of war in Germany, where he saved the lives of 200 Jewish-American soldiers.

This prestigious recognition comes as a testament to Edmonds’ remarkable defiance and compassion in the face of immense danger. His son, Chris Edmonds, shared with 6 News the momentous call he received from President Donald Trump, confirming his late father’s honor.
