LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA)—A Lakeland couple was arrested for committing a series of armed robberies, the Department of Justice announced.

Andres Correa, 39, and Cassandra Kerr, 46, were both arrested after a complaint alleged that Correa committed a series of armed robberies while Kerr aided and abetted Correa in committing the robberies on August 5 and 7 of 2025.

According to the complaint, Correa and Kerr robbed gas stations in Tampa on Aug. 5. Correa displayed a pistol and demanded money and pressing the gun into one of the victim’s stomach until he received the money. Kerr was a lookout in her vehicle outside the store.

Correa and Kerr then robbed a food mart in Tampa on Aug. 7.

During the robbery, Correa entered the business, produced a pistol, and demanded money, the complaint said.

Correa held one of the store clerks at gunpoint until he got the money from the register, and Kerr acted as a lookout again.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 19, Correa robbed a smoke shop in Seffner by pulling a pistol from his chest area, grabbing a customer, and moving him back toward the counter.

Correa then pointed the firearm at the back of the victim’s head and neck as he demanded cash.

According to the DOJ, on Aug. 26, the FBI, ATF agents, and detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at two homes.

In one of the homes, officers found clothing consistent with the surveillance footage, a firearm consistent with the firearm used in the robberies, a stomach holster, and a ledger with a list of banks and smoke shops and directions on how to get to them, the DOJ said.

“These arrests were the result of joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office,” The Department of Justice said.

If convicted, both Correa and Kerr face up to 20 years in federal prison for each charge.
