AUGUSTA, Ga () – Hundreds of protests are happening across the country to speak out against the Trump administration.

These protests are happening at the same time as President Donald Trump’s military parade honoring the Army’s 250th birthday, Flag Day and the President’s 79th birthday.

One protestor tells me what changes she wants to see.

“It’s over the policies that have been made against immigrants, against our own people. This is Augusta speaking out that we want rights for all,” said Amanda Waymer.

Waymer says its empowering to see hundreds of people coming together.

“It’s overwhelming to know what people want this, we want America for America,” Waymer said.

I spoke with two parents who brought their young daughter to the protest, they want her to grow up and speak up for what she believes in.

Toby White said, “I’m protesting no due process, it’s scary because it’s a slippery slope, it starts with somebody you don’t like and then it’s you, so that’s what we’re here for.”

“We don’t want her to grow up in a world where she doesn’t feel like she can stand up for herself, we need to make sure that she uses her voice because that’s how we got in this situation in the first place,” said Anay Armstrong.

Organizers stressed this was a non-violent protest and warned participants they would be asked to leave if they could not follow the rules. There was another protest Saturday afternoon in Aiken.

There were no incidents stemming from either of those protests.
