PLANT CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — Sunday is your very last chance to get to Plant City for the Florida Strawberry Festival.

With record-breaking numbers already, visitors continued to pour in for the fun, food and of course, all things strawberry.

You can smell the strawberry shortcake a mile away, a sweet tradition this festival is famous for.
The secret is easy; fresh pound cake or biscuit, lots of whip cream and fresh sliced strawberries in a simple sugar mix. However, if shortcake isn’t your thing, there’s a farm picked strawberry treat variation for everyone.

“We’ve got the strawberry cheesecake which is our biggest seller, fresh berries with cream cheese glaze. We’ve got the cinnamon roll and we’ve also got elephant ears,” said Mama Jane with Best Around Concessions.

There’s plenty of opportunity to take home cartons on cartons of fresh Florida strawberries.
The grounds are full of rides for all ages, and adorable entertainment.

The festival is steeped in rich history, from strawberry queens, and big-name concerts on the main stage. Plenty of people make it a point to return year after year.

“And I’ve been here many other years, I’ve been here 37 years and it’s a staple in our community,” Karen Franklin from Pinellas Park said.

That staple of strawberries and a little southern charm clearly keeping the tradition alive, for 90 years and going.
