In a significant legal move, the father of Sebastian Rogers, missing since February 2024, has launched two federal lawsuits aimed at the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. This development unfolds in Nashville, Tennessee, as the search for answers continues.
The mystery surrounding Sebastian Rogers began in February 2024 when he vanished from the Hendersonville home of his mother and stepfather, leaving family and friends desperately seeking clues to his whereabouts.
Shortly after Sebastian went missing, the investigation faced a setback as the search was inexplicably scaled down, adding fuel to a growing public outcry. This controversial decision attracted widespread attention, with social media influencers and the larger public questioning the handling of the case.
In response, Seth Rogers, Sebastian’s father, is taking a stand by suing the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. His lawsuit accuses the department of mishandling the investigation, allowing unauthorized entry into the potential crime scene, and prematurely ceasing their search efforts. Furthermore, the legal action highlights that the case was inadequately managed with only a single detective tasked with continuing the investigation after the scale-back.
The lawsuit against DCS was involved in the home where Rogers disappeared from, but detectives did not take that information into account.
Seth Rogers is seeking $10 million in damages, and he wants the case to be reopened with a new active investigation into Sebastian’s disappearance.
