CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – Illinois soccer has tied the best start to a season in program history, at 7-0 entering Big Ten play.
The Illini are one of just two teams in America still yet to suffer defeat. Not only is Illinois unbeaten, it has allowed only one goal total through those seven games.
“The fact that she can move as well as she does with her height and she’s as explosive as she is with her height and size, it’s unbelievable,” first year Illinois head women’s soccer coach Katie Hultin said. “Her hands are unreal… There’s a lot of things that are pretty impressive about Izzy.”
Lee credits her defense.
“The effort they put in every game to get to every single ball has been great,” she said.
Plus, the redshirt junior says the fan support this year has been cool to see.
Now ranked No. 16 in the country, Illinois is set to host Indiana on Friday for the first conference game of the Katie Hultin era. Friday’s game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Demirjian Park.
