LELAND GROVE, Ill. (WCIA) — Following the arrest and dismissal of the former police chief last month, the Leland Grove City Council has appointed a new leader for its police department. The council’s unanimous decision was announced last week, marking a fresh chapter for the city’s law enforcement team.

Mayor Mary Jo Bangert revealed that on March 24, the council voted in favor of promoting Kenton Oliver to police chief. Oliver has been a dedicated member of the Leland Grove Police Department for almost two decades, showcasing a commendable track record.
