In LEROY, Ill. (WCIA), uncertainty looms over the future of SNAP benefits and funding. Amidst this ambiguity, a community in Central Illinois has stepped up to offer a temporary solution to help its residents.

The LeRoy City Council has initiated a short-term food assistance program. Those interested in participating can apply at City Hall. Once approved, participants will receive a voucher redeemable at Kirby Foods (IGA). Plans are also underway to extend the voucher’s usability to Dollar General.
