The LeRoy Police Department in Illinois is set to enhance its law enforcement capabilities thanks to a significant grant exceeding $100,000. This funding will be allocated for the purchase of new body and dashboard cameras, crucial tools for transparency and accountability in policing.
During a recent LeRoy City Council meeting, Police Chief Jason Williams shared the good news, which he later confirmed on Facebook. The grant, totalling nearly $117,000, will cover the acquisition of body cameras, squad car cameras, and the necessary video storage solutions.
