BISMARCK, Ill. (WCIA) — Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin football will need to replace production from a strong senior class that led the Blue Devils to an 11-1 record last season.

The most productive player from last year’s was Evan Parish, who was a huge part of the team’s success one on offense and defense.

He ran for nearly 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns, tallying 145 tackles on defense. Evan is going into his freshman year at St. Francis (Ill.), playing defensive back at the NAIA level.

But, his brother Liam enters his junior season at BHRA, learning from his brother’s advice.

“Just staying strong, making sure to put yourself through adversity and never give up, and to go five yards plus each play,” Liam said.

He also worked hard to make sure he’ll be an impact player as an upperclassman.

“I pushed myself all offseason and really had to work hard, eat a lot of food, lift a lot of weight just make sure I’m good for my junior and senior year.”

“He’s grown a lot this season, actually, gotten way better,” senior offensive lineman Conner Powell said. “Pretty exciting to see him trying to step up to be like his big brother.”

BHRA opens the season at home against Clifton Central on August 29.
