ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – If you’ve lived in Central Florida for any length of time, you’ve probably heard the name Orange Blossom Trail — or as the locals call it, “the Trail.” This road stretches across multiple counties, acting as both a busy highway and a local street depending on where you are.
For years, Orange Blossom Trail has seen its share of changes, from major construction projects to shifts in reputation. One important improvement over the years has been the installation of advanced pedestrian crossings — especially near the section just south of I-4. These crossings were designed to give people a safer way to cross such a busy stretch of road.
But here’s the big question: Are drivers actually yielding to pedestrians at these crossings? And are pedestrians using them the right way?
That’s what we’ll be looking into during today’s live stream. We’re hitting the Trail to observe how drivers and pedestrians interact at these crossings, and to see whether these safety features are being used as intended.
Join us for a closer look at how safety plays out in real time on one of Central Florida’s busiest roads.
