EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) – On a notable Tuesday in the world of women’s golf, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur is in full swing, capturing the attention of golf enthusiasts worldwide.

At Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, the most talented women amateur golfers are gearing up for their only practice session before diving into the competition, which kicks off on Wednesday. This prestigious event has quickly become a highlight for both players and fans alike.

Megha Ganne, currently ranked sixth in the Amateur World Golf Ranking, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “In my opinion, this is the most thrilling week in amateur golf, whether for men or women. Everyone in the golf world is aware of it. They might miss other tournaments, but this one captures everyone’s attention.”

She further emphasized the significance of the event, noting, “It draws attention in the best possible way, with these women showcasing exceptional poise. I’m eager to see how the tournament evolves, although it’s hard to imagine it getting much better than it already is.”

Following the practice round, the competition unfolds with the first two rounds at Champions Retreat on Wednesday and Thursday. From there, the top 30 players, including ties, will advance to the final round on Saturday at the renowned Augusta National Golf Club. On Friday, the entire field will have the opportunity to practice at Augusta National, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to this celebrated tournament.

The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be broadcast live on Golf Channel (1:30-3:30 p.m. ET) from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will broadcast the final round beginning at noon on Saturday, April 4th at Augusta National.
