SAVANNAH, Ga. — In a significant boost for local entrepreneurship, the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce (GSBCC) has secured a $136,700 grant aimed at revitalizing the area’s Black-owned businesses. Announced during the Annual Black Business Excellence Gala, this Small Business Revitalization Grant is poised to act as a lifeline for enterprises striving to recover from the setbacks of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grant is specifically designed to assist Black-owned small businesses in Savannah as they navigate the post-pandemic landscape. To qualify for this financial aid, businesses must meet certain criteria, such as employing fewer than 500 people and demonstrating economic hardship due to the pandemic’s impact.

Moncello Stewart, the president of GSBCC, expressed enthusiasm about the grant’s potential impact. “This grant allows us to provide meaningful and tangible support to our small business owners who fuel our regional economy and ensure they have the tools and resources to thrive,” Stewart remarked.

Eligible businesses eager to access this support can find more information and apply through the GSBCC’s official channels. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to fostering economic resilience and growth within the Black business community in Savannah.

“This grant allows us to provide meaningful and tangible support to our small business owners who fuel our regional economy and ensure they have the tools and resources to thrive,” said Moncello Stewart, president of GSBCC.
