RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. () – The United Way of the CSRA has proudly announced a generous $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation for the CSRA’s Community Grants Program.
This funding will fuel an initiative designed to tackle chronic absenteeism in three local educational institutions.
The schools benefiting from this program are Wilkinson Gardens Elementary, Richmond Hill Elementary, and Barton Chapel Elementary.
Guided by United Way AmeriCorps VISTAs, the project aims to pinpoint the individual family issues contributing to chronic absenteeism and connect them with essential community resources to address these underlying issues.
“Our community is at its best when we collaboratively dismantle obstacles to education,” stated Brittany Burnett, President & CEO of United Way of the CSRA. “This grant empowers us to thoroughly explore the causes of absenteeism and offer customized aid that enables both families and students to flourish.”
