SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Round One of the Club Car Championship at Deer Creek Course at the Landings is complete on April 3.
The leader after the first 18 holes is Johnny Keefer, who turned pro in 2024 after playing collegiately at Baylor. Keefer was seven shots under par and leads by one stroke over three players tied for second.
As for our local participants, Bluffton native Bryson Nimmer is three under par. He finished strong birding two of his last three holes. In the second round, Nimmer will start on the second nine at 2:25 p.m.
Savannah native Hughes Threlkeld, who is playing in his first professional event and under a sponsor’s exemption, was even par on the day. He recorded six birdies on the day but also had two double bogeys. Threlkeld has a late tee time in the second round. He will start at 2:35 p.m. from the first hole.
Savannah native Shad Tuten played well but had two bad holes. He started the day with a double bogey on 10th hole.
Then, bounced back to make nine consecutive pars before another bogey on the second hole. Tuten tees off from first hole at 9 a.m. on Friday.
