A Fall Branch resident found himself in police custody on Tuesday following accusations of breaking into a Gray convenience store and stealing kratom the previous day.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) issued a news release detailing the arrest of 33-year-old Joshua Marcus Blalock. He faces multiple charges, including burglary, theft, vandalism, driving with a revoked license, and violating financial responsibility laws.
Authorities responded to an early morning report of a break-in around 5 a.m. on Monday. The incident occurred at a convenience store located in the Gray community.
“The front door had been shattered,” the release stated. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Blalock making off with several boxes of Kratom before escaping in a vehicle.
Blalock was apprehended while driving along Bristol Highway shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday. A traffic stop led to his arrest, and he was subsequently taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he remains on a $15,100 bond, according to the WCSO.
