SAVANNAH, Ga. () — As Green Truck Pub in Savannah reaches the milestone of 15 years on October 18, the eatery is celebrating with an event that combines festivity and philanthropy. Partnering with Renegade Paws Rescue, the pub is hosting a birthday celebration with a community focus.

Whitney Shephard, owner of Green Truck, views this occasion as an opportunity to express gratitude toward the patrons who have supported them through the years. “We’re matching all donations to Renegade Paws throughout the day. Simply join us for a meal, and we’ll contribute a portion of the proceeds. Even more impactful, for every donation made, we’ll match it dollar for dollar,” she explained.

The event promises a range of activities, including a pet foster and adoption fair, art displays by local creators, special food and drink offerings, and even a unique activity called ketchup painting. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring pet supplies such as food, toys, and leashes for donation.

Mary Britton from Renegade Paws Rescue highlights the importance of these contributions, “Monetary donations are crucial for maintaining the health and medical needs of the dogs. We also appreciate items like leashes, collars, harnesses, and dog bowls, as they help us fulfill everyday needs.”

The celebration aims to strengthen community ties, whether through the bond between people and their pets or the connection between a beloved local restaurant and the city that has supported it for over a decade.

The anniversary celebration starts at 4:00 p.m. The art market will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Green Truck Pub at 2430 Habersham Street in Savannah.
