MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Volunteering for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign offers a rewarding way to contribute, but for one woman in Central Illinois, it’s also a tribute to her father.

Since 2018, Michelle Bonham and her daughter have actively participated in fundraising efforts. Two years ago, her father, on the brink of passing, reminded her of her commitment to ring the bell, urging her to honor her promise.
