I-16/I-95 road construction to impact traffic

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Starting this Sunday at 10:00 p.m., the I-16/I-95 improvement project will begin affecting traffic patterns with lane closures and ongoing bridge construction.

Schedule for Daytime Lane Closures

Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Expect periodic closures of both right and left lanes at various locations.

  • I-16 westbound from the I-16/I-516 Interchange to the I-16/I-95 Interchange

Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Drivers will encounter occasional closures of right and left lanes across different sections.

  • I-16 eastbound from the I-16/I-95 Interchange to I-16/I-516 Interchange

Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Anticipate sporadic right and left lane closures at select sites.

  • I-516 westbound at the I-16 Interchange
  • I-516 eastbound at the I-16 Interchange

Nighttime Closures

Sunday, Nov. 30, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Intermittent, right- and left-lane closures at the following locations

  • I-16 westbound from the I-16/I-516 Interchange to the I-16/I-95 Interchange
  • I-16 eastbound from the I-16/I-95 Interchange to the I-16/I-516 Interchange

Sunday, Nov. 30, 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Double-lane closures at the following locations

  • I-95 northbound @ I-16 overpass
  • I-95 southbound @ I-16 overpass

Sunday, Nov. 30, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Monday, Dec. 1, through Saturday, Dec. 6, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Intermittent, right- and left-lane closures at the following locations

  • I-516 westbound at the I-16 Interchange
  • I-516 eastbound at the I-16 Interchange

Expect delays, exercise caution, reduce speed while driving through work zones and watch for workers.
