KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is facing a murder charge after he beat a hotel resident to death with a fire extinguisher, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday afternoon, deputies responded to the Quality Inn hotel at 2945 Entry Point Boulevard in Kissimmee after receiving a 911 call about a man kicking, stomping, and using a fire extinguisher to beat a victim.
Piero Estefano But Castillo, 25, a Chilean national who was staying at the hotel had been asked to leave by hotel staff, Sheriff Marcos Lopez said.
Castillo then lost his temper and began breaking things in the hotel. Officials said the victim, 55-year-old Robert Krasinski tried to calm Castillo down.
That’s when Castillo got angry at Krasinki for intervening and brutally beat him to death with a fire extinguisher.
Castillo was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held in the Osceola County Jail without bond and is currently on immigration hold.
“These savage attacks are not going to go unpunished here,” Sheriff Lopez said in a press conference Friday.
The Sheriff said Castillo entered the United States in 2019 as a non-immigrant student. He left for unknown reasons, before returning to Florida on Jan 1., 2025, on a 90-day tourist visa.
The sheriff’s office said they are working with the Chilean government to get additional information on Castillo.
