Man charged with rape, aggravated assault

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A man was formally charged with rape and aggravated assault by a Chatham County grand jury Wednesday, according to court documents.

Samuel Law Jr. is accused of raping a woman and pointing a gun at her on June 9, 2025.

He was also charged with aggravated stalking. According to his indictment, Law violated a condition of his pretrial release by unlawfully contacting the woman “for the purpose of harassing and intimidating” her.

Law was indicted on two gun charges as well, according to court documents.

He is charged with possession of an illegal weapon. Law reportedly had a Glock 26 with a switch on it, a small device that modifies a firearm to increase the rate of fire from semi-automatic to automatic.

Additionally, Law was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
