Saltville police arrest man accused of crimes against children

SALTVILLE, Va. (WJHL) — The Saltville Police Department arrested a Southwest Virginia man and charged him with numerous crimes against children.

According to a news release, Steven Fleenor, 20, of Pound, was arrested after an investigation involving Saltville police, the Wise County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service.

Fleenor was reportedly arrested without incident and charged with the following:

  • Object sexual penetration
  • Taking indecent liberties with a minor
  • 3 counts of abduction
  • 3 counts of displaying grooming materials to a child
  • 3 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor

As of Monday, Fleenor was being held in a Southwest Virginia Regional Jail facility.

“These charges represent some of the most serious crimes in our community,” Saltville Police Chief Bryan Lynch stated in the release. “I am deeply proud of the hard work and determination shown by the officers of the Saltville Police Department and our partners. Their tireless efforts ensured that a dangerous individual is now in custody.”
