HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. () — Authorities have apprehended a suspect following the stabbing of a 62-year-old man.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has taken 39-year-old Sean Elliott into custody after he allegedly stabbed an older man on Hilton Head Island.
The incident unfolded on Sunday evening around 7:20 p.m. The victim was driving and had just turned onto Shelter Cove Lane from a parking lot when he noticed an impact on the side of his vehicle.
Upon exiting to investigate, a confrontation ensued between him and Elliott. The altercation escalated, resulting in Elliott allegedly pulling out a knife and stabbing the man.
The injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment, though details about the extent of his injuries remain undisclosed.
Officials say Elliott has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
